James S. Simply put, Joel was great. I've had literally over several hundred massages globally as I travel a lot for work. It's one of the only ways to relax after sitting for hours on flights.
First, unlike the regular "Standard" massages that simply follow a routine and don't really assist in any pointed areas as requested, Joel actually takes care of the parts you point out and help those areas.
Second, pressure. I like my massages with extreme pressure. He managed to hit this pressure no problem which is great for athletes and people who have tough knots.
Lastly, attitude. Most therapists are either ninjas or politicians. One is too quiet and I feel uncomfortable saying anything. The other talks too much when I want to sleep. Joel provides a vibe that it is up to the client who decides the conversation.
Highly recommend Joel. I would also suggest that you simply tell him what you want and don't feel uncomfortable asking for targeted focus areas. Thanks Joel!
